The time we live in will be studied in the textbooks long after it is over. Our grandchildren will ask us about the time when everyone wore masks. Some will make parallels with The Great Depression to tell their stories. I prefer to tell it from a different angle. It was a time when the world got divided. It was a time when none of us could choose to be in the middle. Everyone needed to pick a side with no exceptions. It wasn't an easy thing to do. But each of us needed to take a stand. It was either-or, as simple as it sounds.
I call it The Great Polarization.
Defining moments in the history of humankind asked us to act. None can afford to be a passive viewer. The sum of our brains and hearts brings the change we want to see happening. We cannot be in the middle anymore and say nothing, do nothing. Times like this polarize choices to the extreme. But this is what is required for the change to happen.
Unfortunately, no one can help in this task but ourselves. There are no courses or books that could teach us. The answer lies deep inside each of us. For that, we need to think, contemplate or meditate. While I'm in no position to tell anyone what they need to do, all I can do is share my COVID meditations. It's something to dwell upon, which I've been doing since the beginning of the pandemic. I hope that they will help you to find your ground.
